Cash's light 10 foot tall light sculpture "Circular Weaving" is featured in the Katonah Museum of Art's upcoming exhibition Shattering Glass: New Perspectives
Opening November 11, 2007 - February 24, 2008
This contemporary art exhibition, curated by the KMA's Ellen Keiter and Neil Watson, will shatter visitors' expectations of glass: what it is, what it looks like, how it functions, and its perceived limitations of scale, texture and malleability. Most of the art will be site-specific and installation-based. Many works respond to and interact with existing architectural spaces. These installations will be heroic in proportion, often involving hundreds of individual components. The exhibition will feature many examples of glass - stained glass, cast, cut sandblasted, etched, slumped, and blown glass, as well as found glass, crystal, neon, mosaic, and fiber optics. Shattering Glass will encompass the entire Museum. The element of surprise, both in the placement of the works and in their astonishing range of properties and expression, is intrinsic to the exhibition.
